For generations, most Royal Engineers military training programmes have attracted qualifications of one kind or another.
Many awards offered to serving Royal Engineers - such as National Vocational Qualifications (NVQ) – are funded by REVETT and administrated by the RE CPD Team in collaboration with the Army unit concerned. In addition to paying NVQ candidate fees, REVETT also funds the training of NVQ assessors and internal verifiers working with RE candidates.
While REVETT funds the candidate fees for many NVQ programmes – and some other awards – it can also draw down subsidies from the Skills Funding Agency for eligible Royal Engineers who undertake the more challenging Apprenticeship frameworks. Such Apprentices are usually under 25 and will need to complete the components of the Apprenticeship concerned.
The qualifications currently funded by REVETT and administered by the RE CPD Team fall mainly within the following areas. The majority of NVQs and Apprenticeships awarded to serving Royal Engineers are completed alongside their initial military trade training.
